Evaluation and analysis of 3d data

Understanding and utilising data efficiently

Analytics und evaluation – Industrial Computed Tomography

Industrial computed tomography is a valuable method for detecting defects, shape deviations, inclusions and many other factors non-destructively and precisely. CT data are also essential in reverse engineering and tool correction. However, reliable evaluation and interpretation place high requirements on the user's expertise.

Your CT data reliably evaluated and comprehensibly interpreted

At Quality Analysis, we evaluate your data with the aid of VG STUDIOMAX and ZEISS Inspect Professional. Our experts ensure the reliable interpretation of the CT data and provide specific answers to your questions such that you can quickly detect defects, better understand processes and work at the highest quality level.

Fast, reliable
evaluation of your CT data

Porosity analysis

We offer the complete spectrum for the detection and analysis of pores, shrinkage cavities and inclusions, including expanded porosity analysis as per the reference sheets P203, P202 and P201.

3D measurement of interior and exterior geometries

3D metrology

Utilise your CT data for precise measurements of standard geometries, freeform surfaces as well as geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) – even in inaccessible areas. The 3D measurements are compliant with the standards ISO 5459 and ISO 1101.

Defect analysis with color-coded visualization

Defect analysis

Non-destructive testing makes it possible to detect undesirable defects in the interior of components, e.g. cracks, pores, shrinkage cavities, fractures or density fluctuations.

Assembly control of components and parts

Assembly checking

The correct assembly of all components, even if they are not visible from the exterior, can be checked reliably using modern CT scans – even for the smallest components.

Target-actual comparison to a CAD model

Nominal-actual comparison

We acquire and analyse the deviation of a workpiece from the planned geometry (e.g. CAD data) during a nominal-actual comparison. The magnitude of the deviation from the nominal state can be depicted clearly with the aid of a false-colour image and analysed highly precisely.

Wall thickness analysis with color-coded deviation

Wall thickness analysis

Colour-coded results help you to locate areas with insufficient or excessive wall thickness or gaps in voxel data, point clouds, mesh or CAD data.

STL model

The preparation of an STL model makes possible a wide range of options for the direct or subsequent utilisation in production of the 3D data acquired. The models can be used, for instance, for reverse engineering or 3D printing.

Reverse engineering

Reverse engineering makes it possible to prepare CAD models that represent an exact digital copy of the component. These models can be used for the virtual assembly of the component.

Fiber composite analysis with color coding

Fibre orientation

We calculate and depict clearly the local and global fibre orientation of short and long fibres in your composite materials and depict the statistics on volume meshes.

Added value at Quality Analysis

Speed

Our computer tomographs are also available at short notice. Of course, we also evaluate the data promptly and quickly such that you are rapidly supplied with all the necessary data.

Our software

During the acquisition and also the evaluation of data, we only rely on high-quality software solutions such as VGSTUDIOMAX from Volume Graphics and ZEISS Inspect Professional so that we can offer you results suitable for many applications.

Versatility

The CT data for your component can be output as a point cloud and as voxel, mesh or CAD data; as a result they can be used for a large number of widely varying applications – and that time and again.

Accreditation

The accreditation of our inspection methods and air-conditioned measuring rooms signifies for you certainty, dependability and objectivity. This statement of course also applies to the evaluation of your CT data, which we always undertake in accordance with the standards.

With extensive experience, excellent software and sound expertise, our experts obtain the best from every analytical method so that you can rely on excellent measurement results.
