Checking, monitoring and verifying water-mixed cooling lubricants, process water and cleaning baths
The composition of water-mixed cooling lubricants and cleaning baths changes during use. Regular tests are required to prevent hazards arising for employees as well as possible degradation of the processing.

METHODS AND APPLICATIONS

We check water-mixed cooling lubricants for you in accordance with DGUV 109-003, as well as cooling water, process water and cleaning baths:

  • pH measurement
  • Conductivity measurement
  • Determination of the water hardness
  • Determination of the biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) in accordance with DIN EN 1899-1
  • Determination of the chemical oxygen demand (COD) in accordance with DIN ISO 15705
  • Determination of the total organic carbon (TOC) in accordance with DIN EN 1484
  • Turbidity measurement in accordance with DIN EN ISO 7025
  • Colour measurement (photometric) in accordance with DIN EN ISO 7887 (colour index, Hazen, iodine, Gardner, Yellowness)
  • Quantitative determination of organic and inorganic constituents (e.g. nitrites, nitrates, sulphates, ammonia, iron, manganese, chloride, calcium, magnesium, fluoride, anionic tenside, etc.)

TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT

We check water-mixed cooling lubricants, process water and cleaning baths using the following analysis equipment:

  • Hach Lange DR 6000 UV-VIS spectrophometer
  • Hach TL2310 ISO turbidimeter
  • HQ40D multimeter incl. pH electrode and conductivity electrode
