Innovation for the future

The future is taking shape: Progress on the extension in Großer Forst

With the ground-breaking ceremony in the fall of 2024, we have opened an important chapter in our company's development and the construction progress speaks for itself: something big is currently growing on our site in Großer Forst. The earthworks have already been completed, including the laying of all supply and disposal lines - the stable foundation for a successful future is in place. Now the next construction phase is in full swing: the erection of the imposing steel structure has begun, giving the new hall visible contours for the first time. Thanks to the outstanding work of our construction partner, the implementation is not only proceeding according to plan, but also with impressive precision and speed. Day by day, more space for innovation, efficiency and growth is being created here.

Follow what is happening here and take a bird's eye view of our new building - with impressive drone shots that are updated regularly! Or follow the construction progress in our picture gallery. There are also new, exciting pictures here regularly. This way, you can always see what's going on. You can find out interesting facts about our new building in the FAQs.

Why is Quality Analysis expanding?

“Since our new building at the Großer Forst site in Nuertingen in 2017, we have added new specialist areas such as chemical analysis to our portfolio and consistently expanded existing areas with state-of-the-art and highly efficient analysis systems.

Our team has also grown steadily. With their great expertise and commitment, our employees make a decisive contribution to the success of our services - a real success story!

In order to facilitate further growth and ensure the usual high quality of our services, we have decided to expand our laboratory areas, true to the motto: 'Standing still is going backwards'.”

Interesting facts
about the extension

What is being built?

With the extension and the addition of a storey to our rear hall aisle, we are doubling the floor space for our analytics department from 2,300 m² to more than 4,500 m².

The newly gained space will benefit both our logistics department and our specialist departments, particularly in materialography and chemical analysis. We are also investing in state-of-the-art equipment and new analysis systems. This means we are well equipped to meet future challenges.

Our employees are also benefiting from the investment in the future: a new recreation area with the option of workplace gardening is being created in front of the administration building. Over an area of 500 m², a green retreat is being created with shady trees, comfortable benches, berry hedges and a trellis fruit area, making it a great place to spend time. In the raised beds and heatable greenhouses, our employees can gain experience in organic vegetable growing under the guidance of a garden blogger.

In various places, we will create targeted habitats for plants and animals such as Benjes hedges and insect hotels, thus making a valuable contribution to promoting biodiversity and species diversity.

How will it be built?

We want to build our extension in the same construction method and style as the existing building. Energy-efficient systems, which have been integrated since 2017, will be technologically upgraded to meet the requirements of the future.

Our energy concept includes energy generation via PV systems (expansion from 204 kWp to over 450 kWp), the use of battery storage systems (short-term storage) and the production of green hydrogen from PV electricity via electrolysers. The storage of hydrogen and its use in the winter months via fuel cell systems are important components for generating electricity.

All in all, we are reducing our need for externally sourced electricity and at the same time ensuring a sustainable, climate-friendly energy supply. This enables air-conditioned rooms all year round and optimum air quality at the workplaces.

How do our customers benefit from the expansion?

We are using the extra space in our specialist departments to make the best possible use of all systems and - as is already the case today - to invest in new and additional analysis methods. This will enable us to offer you an even broader and cross-method portfolio of analyses and measurements for your quality assurance and product and process optimization. In addition, new specialist areas are in the starting blocks: microbiology, pharmacy and medical technology.

Thanks to the expansion of the logistics area and numerous technical innovations, we ensure smooth delivery and collection of your test specimens - quickly, efficiently and safely. This also applies to particularly sensitive test pieces and samples.

Are there any restrictions for our customers during the construction phase?

Operations in our laboratories and measuring halls will continue without restriction during the construction phase. You can therefore rely on the usual fast processing of your analyses and measurement tasks!

In terms of logistics, the routes for deliveries and collections will change. However, the new zones are adequately signposted. Customer parking spaces are also available as usual in the entrance area to the administration building.

When will the new building be inaugurated?

We want to give our visitors a first insight into our new premises on Customer Day 2025. On September 25, there will be group tours of the new laboratories and the logistics area as well as the redesigned existing laboratories. You can find more information here:
>>> Customer Day 2025

The official opening ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026: first with a family day as an open day and in the evening with our employees and their partners as well as invited guests.
