CHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF PLASTICS
Thermal analysis:
Using dynamic differential calorimetry (DDC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), we inspect the thermal characteristics of your polymer materials:
- Characterisation of thermal properties, e.g. determination of the melting temperature, glass transition temperature or crystallinity
- Quantification of the material composition, e.g. polymer or plasticiser content, filler material content or remaining mass
- Analysis of the thermal decomposition behaviour
- For the identification and quantification of escaping decomposition products and volatile components, we couple TGA with FT-IR and GC-MS
Qualification and quantification of plastics and their additives:
We characterise and identify your polymer materials using spectroscopic and gas chromatographic analyses:
- Verification and material identification using RAMAN and FT-IR spectroscopy
- Analysis of volatile organic filler material, e.g. plasticiser or solvent using gas chromatography with coupled mass spectrometry (GC-MS)
